Portugal scored a six tries to three victory over Japan in an International friendly at Norford Park, Sefton.
The match was played in torrential rain. A bolt of lightning was responsiblefor the lights going out midway through the second quarter.
The match ending when lightning and thunder got a little too close.
It was a strong performance in Portugal's first hit out for 2008.
