Rugby League to be played in Portugal.
The proposal for rugby league to be played in Portugal has been formulated with the following points open for discussion.
(a) Minimum four team competition. Consisting of both senior (A Grade) and junior (under 16) competitions. Competition played over two weekends.
(b) Rugby League tournament. Invitations open to rugby league teams in neighbouring countries, as well as four local teams from Portugal. Tournament played over one weekend.
(c) As per point a, played over one weekend. From the competition a Portugal 13 rugby league team would be selected, Portugal to host visiting nation for two games international series.
Competitions/ tournaments will be played on a bi annual basis. Eg. 2012, 2014, 2016 etc
The Portuguese Rugby League Association requires players, coaches, match officials and volunteers for both the domestic competition and international tours.

(1) Portugal is country of birth
(2) Be the holder of a Portuguese passport
(3) Portuguese ancestry (Portuguese parent or grandparent)
(4) Portugal is country of residence
